Couldn't make this up if i tried. Asshole. Estimated 100,000 dead, but he's using it to advance his own interests and scare people into religion.

http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/01/13/haiti.pat.robertson/index.html

He Says
"The Haitians "were under the heel of the French. You know, Napoleon III and whatever," Robertson said on his broadcast Wednesday. "And they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said, 'We will serve you if you will get us free from the French.' True story. And so, the devil said, 'OK, it's a deal.' ""

Yeah, I heard about that from TheAmazingAtheist's video and I'm uploading an Atheist Watch episode on it right now. But is anybody really surprised by the garbage that comes out of his mouth anymore?

As a pastor, priest, or generally influential religious person, you're apparently allowed to make any kind of mentally retarded statement you like and simply claim divine inspiration. This guy didn't merely guess or admit it was a theory. He proclaimed it as a fact and didn't ask for a discussion on it. But why should he? The Holy Spirit guides him in all of his statements. So who are we to judge, right? Apparently if you don't have Christ "living within" you, you can't understand the things of the Spirit. How unfortunate.
